The basics

Interest media, explained.

What is Helm?
Helm is interest media: social media you actually own. You control your feed, your algorithm is yours, and you own your audience instead of renting it from a company that can take it away. Helm brings short video, photos, stash knowledge cards, podcasts, long form articles, live streaming, and a sponsorship marketplace into one app.
What is interest media?
Interest media is a new category of social media that you actually own. Instead of a company controlling your feed with an ad driven algorithm, you control what you see, your algorithm is yours, and you own your audience instead of renting it. There are no ads and no data sales, so your attention is never the product. It is built around your interests, not an outrage machine designed to keep you scrolling. Helm is the first interest media platform.
How is interest media different from social media?
Traditional social media rents you an audience and controls your reach with an ad driven algorithm designed to maximize engagement. Interest media flips that: you own your audience, you control your feed, and your algorithm is yours. Helm does not run ads, does not sell data, and does not throttle your reach to sell you boosts.
Do I really own my audience on Helm?
Yes. You can connect the platforms you already grew and bring your following into a home you own. The people who follow you are your audience, not a rented list you can lose overnight, and Helm never throttles your reach to sell you boosts.
Who controls my feed and my algorithm?
You do. Helm does not run a black box ranking engine that decides what you see. Your feed is built around your interests and the people you choose to follow. Your algorithm is yours, which means Helm does not control you.
Does Helm run ads or sell my data?
No. Helm does not run ads and does not sell user data to advertisers, brokers, or anyone else. The business is funded by creator monetization, sponsorship fees, and optional premium features, not by harvesting your attention or your behavior.
Creators and earning

Money, Live, and payouts.

Is Helm free?
Yes. Helm is free to join and free to use. There is no required subscription. Creators earn through Live coins and gifts, brand sponsorship deals, and direct fan support. Helm takes a small platform fee on monetization, not on usage.
How do creators make money on Helm?
Creators earn through Live coins and interactive gifts during streams, brand sponsorship deals in the built in marketplace, direct fan support, and tier based perks tied to influence level. There is no follower minimum to start earning.
How much do creators keep?
You start at an even 50/50 split on every coin and gift. As you build your audience and stream consistently, your share climbs to as much as 75%, the highest creator payout of any platform. Buying coins on the web also skips the Apple and Google app store tax, so more of every dollar reaches you.
What is Helm Live and how do coins and gifts work?
Helm Live is live streaming built into the browser. Fans buy coins, about 1,500 coins for 15 dollars, and spend them on interactive animated gifts during your stream. Each gift has its own animation, sound, and chat moment, and the dollars going to you are shown in real time. Payouts run through Stripe Connect to your U.S. bank in days.
What is Your Network?
Your Network is a single number on your Helm profile that adds up your followers and friends across every platform you connect, such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Snapchat, and LinkedIn. It shows your true combined reach in one place. Helm only reads the count, never your actual friends list.
What can I post on Helm?
Every format lives together in one profile and one feed: short video, photos and stories, stash knowledge cards, podcasts, long form articles, and live streaming, plus a built in sponsorship marketplace. You no longer have to juggle separate apps and separate audiences.
Families, safety, and accounts

Safe by design.

What account types does Helm support?
Helm supports accounts for kids under 13 with full parent oversight and COPPA compliant consent, teens 13 to 17 with safer defaults, members for everyday adults, creators, businesses verified by EIN, brands verified by EIN, and parents who run the household.
Is Helm safe for kids and teens?
Yes. Helm was designed for families first. Parents approve every post, message, follow, and Live invite for kids. Kids and teens get age right feeds, and live streaming for them is family only by default. Every account is a verified human and there are no ads and no strangers gaming a feed.
What parental controls does Helm have?
Parents get a dashboard to manage every linked child, set posting and messaging rules, approve content before it sends, lock down the Explore feed, force family only live streaming, run a shared family calendar, and operate a chores, stars, and redeemable rewards system.
Where is my data stored, and is Helm American made?
Helm is built and run in the United States. The team, engineering, hosting, and support are American, and your data lives in the United States and is never sold.
What can businesses and brands do on Helm?
Businesses verified by EIN build a real local customer base across every content type with no ads to buy. Brands verified by EIN run sponsorship campaigns directly with creators, find creators by tier and niche, and get real reporting with no agency middleman cut.
