Helm Live University

How going live on Helm actually pays.

Every number in this curriculum was read out of the code that runs Helm, not out of a marketing deck. Where a rule is unflattering it is here anyway, and where another platform beats us we say so.

Helm Live University

Three things worth knowing before you start

A diamond is a cent of gross, not a cent to you. Your split is applied once, at payout. So a 1,000 diamond balance is 10 dollars of gifting and 5 dollars to you at the base rate.

Tenure pays nothing. Deckhand, Navigator, First Mate, Captain and Admiral all pay 50%. The only thing that raises your split is the fleet you are holding this week.

A battle multiplier never changes what anyone is paid. It moves the number on the scoreboard and nothing else. Earnings are the raw coins that were actually spent.

The tracks

Four tracks. Three of them are published.

A track is published when every lesson in it can be traced to code that is running today. The last one is listed honestly rather than quietly left out.

Shipped works on Helm today. Coming is being built. We will not teach it as though it already exists.

Track 1: How Live Pays You Shipped

Coins, diamonds, the split and the payout. Every number here is the number in Helm’s code, and where Helm is behind another platform this track says so.

Track 2: Fleets Shipped

The weekly ladder that decides your split. Nobody sets it, nobody can grant it, and nobody can take it away except your own quiet week.

Track 3: Battles and Power-ups Shipped

Duel, squad and gauntlet, the seven power ups, and the wall between the game and the money. Everything here is running on Helm today; the parts that are not are named as not.

Track 4: Your First Live Coming

Being written. It covers what you do on camera rather than what the money does, so it has to be built from the app rather than from the code.

Questions

The ones creators actually ask.

Do I need an account to read this?

No. Every lesson here is public and always will be. You need an account to go live on Helm, not to learn how the money works.

Is this the same as Helm University?

No, and that is the point. Helm University teaches you to sell on Helm. Helm Live University teaches you how going live pays. If you do both, read both. The money rails are completely separate and neither one can affect the other.

Why is one of the four tracks not published?

Because it is not ready yet. Track 4 covers what you do on camera rather than what the money does, so it has to be built from the app rather than read out of the code. Track 3 was held back for the same reason until duel, squad and gauntlet became three genuinely different formats, which they now are.

Are all the power ups in track 3 live?

The six the track teaches are. A seventh, Tap Out, is in the catalog but its contest has not been built, so a battle cannot award it and the track says so rather than teaching it. Two more, Capture and a boost round, exist only in a prototype and are not in the curriculum at all.

How much of a gift do I actually keep?

Between 50% and 60%, and the only thing that moves it is the fleet you are holding that week. Every named lifetime rank on Helm, Deckhand through to Admiral, pays exactly 50%. Tenure pays nothing here.

Does a battle multiplier increase what I am paid?

No. A multiplier changes the number on the scoreboard and nothing else. Earnings are the raw coins that were actually spent. The on screen score can exceed the coins received, by design.

Something here is wrong or out of date. What do I do?

Tell us. Every number in this curriculum was read out of the code that runs Helm, and the fastest way we find a mismatch is a creator reporting one.

Also on Helm

Selling is a completely separate income stream.

Nothing in a Helm shop can move your fleet, your diamonds or your split, and nothing you earn live can speed up a shop payout. They share one Stripe account and nothing else. If you sell as well as go live, Helm University covers that side in ten tracks of its own.
