Lesson 1.2Fifty percent base, sixty percent ceiling, and a five rank ladder that pays no more at the top than at the bottom.

This lesson prepares you to: Work out your current split and explain why lifetime rank does not change it.
Your split is your share of the cent that each diamond represents. Every creator starts at the 50% base. At 50%, a diamond is worth 0.5 cents to you. At the cap it is worth 0.6 cents. That is the whole range.
Only one thing raises the base, and it is your current weekly fleet. You re-earn it every week. It does not accumulate and it does not stay put.
The total is capped at 60%. Nothing stacks above it and there is no path to 60% except holding Diamond Armada in the week you cash out.
Now the surprising part. Helm also has a lifetime rank ladder: Deckhand, Navigator, First Mate, Captain, Admiral, earned at 0, 30,000,000, 60,000,000, 100,000,000 and 150,000,000 lifetime diamonds. Every single one of them pays 50%. Admiral pays exactly what Deckhand pays. The ladder is a status badge and nothing more. Tenure pays nothing on Helm.
| What you are holding | Your split |
|---|---|
| Deckhand through to Admiral, lifetime rank | 50% |
| Bronze Anchor, this week | 50% |
| Silver Compass, this week | 51% |
| Gold Helm, this week | 52% |
| Sapphire Fleet, this week | 55% |
| Diamond Armada, this week | 60% |
There is a second detail that is worth real money. The fleet bonus applies to your whole available balance at the moment you cash out, not just to the diamonds you earned during that week. Hold Diamond Armada for one week and everything you have banked is worth more when you press the button. Lose the fleet and the same balance is worth less again.
100,000 banked diamonds = $1,000.00 gross = $500.00 to you at 50%, and $600.00 at 60%.
Whatnot pays 100% of tips. Kick pays 95%. Helm runs 50% to 60%. If raw split percentage is the only thing you are optimising for, those platforms beat us on that line and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
The practical takeaway is about timing, not grinding. Chasing lifetime diamonds changes your badge and your standing, not your money. Chasing this week's fleet changes what every diamond you own is worth on the day you cash out.
Next: the four different ways money reaches your balance, and the one that decides your fleet.
